I've used Canson 8.5x11 "balloon sketch" spiral books for awhile now, but recently grabbed a 9X12 Strathmore (brown-covered) spiral Sketch book, as well as the smaller version of it (5.5x8.5) for easier portability in some places... The tooth is an interesting grade, and it takes everything (pencil, pen, etc) very well, and these pads are nice and sturdy. I love to use the Pilot V5, as well as the Uniball pens. And ALWAYS a Flair black felt-tip! I tend to use Micron Pigma ink pens and PITT artist pens (mainly the brush pen) along with Sharpies for those black areas.Eric Mercedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10237742745284937635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3952256686965674766.post-38815273110769387332008-03-06T14:19:00.000-05:002008-03-06T14:19:00.000-05:00And for sketching, I'm also a Pilot V5 fan myself,...And for sketching, I'm also a Pilot V5 fan myself, and I've recently been enjoying the very deep black of the Uniball pens again.David Reddickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04873416568306835464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3952256686965674766.post-58218278627144896512008-03-06T14:18:00.000-05:002008-03-06T14:18:00.000-05:00Yes, I find the more inexpensive the sketchbook, t...Yes, I find the more inexpensive the sketchbook, the more prone I am to let loose without worry of it becoming too precious to mess up, so to speak. I use a 6" by 9.5" size. It gets the job done and takes ink from a Pilot Precise V5 pen well.

I like the Pilot V5's because they remind me of technical pens, but I don't have to worry about clogging or losing it.Kevin Spearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02055073927901066940noreply@blogger.com
